The course aims to study the current situation of the Spanish economy within a context of the European Union and more specifically in the Euro Zone. This subject was shared during the current academic year with Professor Antonio Rueda Guglieri, who was the coordinator of the subject. I took care of the practical part of that matter. My part is based on the study of Spain's economic situation in a crisis context analyzed through four key aspects: the pension system, the labor market and the unemployment situation, the housing market and the Spanish tourism sector. This subject was teached in the second course of Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
In the subject in question, aspects to be taken into account such as the coordination between the practical and theoretical aspects of the subject are developed. If we focus on the content, we emphasize that in order to synthesize and specify in the precise subject that concerns us, other important aspects of the teaching guide are ignored.
Theoretical classes are complemented by other activities, some of them through the Moodle virtual platform. However, face-to-face attendance is an important part of teaching, as stated in the teaching guide, where the need to attend at least 80% of both the classes and other complementary activities is made explicit. Attendance at this 80% is mandatory, since it is, conditio sen equea non to do average and be able to pass the subject.
A synthesis of the competences that every student who has successfully passed the subject must have acquired
they are distributed in three areas, for the purpose of their classification, in "according to instruments", "according to persons" and "of a specific nature".
Main expected results are the following:
This subject was teached by Xose Picatoste at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia at the associate department in Pontevedra, Galicia. This subjet is teached in the first course of Economics degree. Introduction to Econometrics deals with econometrics, which depends fundamentally on the availability of data and on the quality and accuracy of data.
Although there are several definitions of the term econometrics, all mention in one way or another as an objective of the discipline, the joint use of statistics, mathematics and economic theory in order to provide the latter with empirical content, or in other words, with the objective of quantifying the relationships postulated by economic theory.
The most important tool in econometrics is regression analysis, this instrument can be considered as the
Real meter to measure in our discipline.
Economic theory generally does not postulate more than qualitative relationships between economic variables, one of the main tasks of this discipline, the quantification of these relationships. Other objectives would be the testing of hypotheses and the elaboration of forecasts, although the list is not exhaustive.
At the end of the subject the student must:
At the moment, me, Xose Picatoste, I'm teaching this subject during the academic course 2019-2020 at the Universidade da Coruña, Galicia. at the faculty of Law. This subject is teached in the first course of Law degree.
The main objective of the subject is to understand some basic principles of economics. This is taught through microeconomics principles on my part.
On the other hand, the teacher Emilio Nogueira Moure also taught in the same subject teaching macroeconomic principles.
This course is aimed at students in the first year of the Degree in Law. It is considered a basic subject because it studies fundamental concepts of economics.
